Youth Interactions and Games

This 4-hour training is based on the High Scope Series. Research has shown that most youth programs are highly successful in the areas of safety, structure and support, but are not as competent in building community and cooperative learning among the youth. This training is based on the belief that youth need to feel safe among their peers as well as experience a sense of belonging. A theory of group process is presented and strategies are experienced in the following areas:

Creative ways to form groups
Structures to use in groups
Icebreakers
Name games
Bonding games
Energizers
